Venice, Florida -- A fugitive out of North Carolina and his girlfriend were arrested for stealing laptop computers on two separate occasions from a local Walmart.
After surveillance photos of the pair were dispersed to deputies, a Sarasota Sheriff's deputy recognized them from his routine patrols of South Venice. He found the woman, identified as 29-year-old Sara King, Tuesday on U.S. 41 near Sunset Beach Drive.
During her arrest on two counts of grand theft, she told deputies they could find her boyfriend at work. John Seals, 35, was then arrested and charged with two counts grand theft.
After his arrest, the sheriff's office learned he had escaped out of South Carolina after he had cut off his GPS monitoring device in July following his arrest on multiple drug charges. He is currently being held without bond.
