Bradenton, Florida -- A 65-year-old man was arrested after he fired a shotgun into a Bradenton home Thursday night.
Witnesses called deputies around 7 p.m. about a man outside a home in the 6500 block of 3rd Avenue NE breaking windows and shooting into the home.
When deputies arrived, they found Howard Walls standing outside the home with a double-barreled shotgun in his hands. After being ordered to drop the shotgun multiple times, he finally complied.
Deputies say three windows were found smashed and one round had been fired into the home and into the wall separating the kitchen from the living room.
No one was in the home at the time.
When asked why he committed the crime, Walls told deputies he came over looking for someone who owed him $30. He said he smashed the windows and fired inside to "get their attention".
Instead of collecting his money, he got a trip to the jail and was charged with shooting into an unoccupied dwelling, using a firearm while under the influence, felony criminal mischief and vehicle seizure.
