HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - An 8-year-old boy injured in a Connecticut amusement ride accident has been released from the hospital.
Norwalk police said the boy, who had non-life-threatening injuries, was discharged from Norwalk Hospital on Monday afternoon.
Twelve others taken to hospitals were treated and released Sunday. Five others refused treatment at the scene.
The owner of the ride that malfunctioned at Norwalk's annual Oyster Festival says it will be taken apart to determine what caused the accident. Richard Stewart said riders in swings hanging by chains were sent hurtling into each other and the ride itself when the drive system that spins the riders suddenly froze.
Connecticut state police said the Stewart Amusement Co. has no history of safety violations.
