Riverview, Florida -- A man has been arrested after making a false report of armed robbery.
On August 28, Kyle Gallagher reported that he was robbed at knife point by a suspect in front of the Bayou Crossings Apartment Complex. Gallagher reported that the suspect stole his cell phone, driver's license, cash and debit card.
Reportedly, detectives began to investigate the robbery and found the calls made from Gallagher's phone were from a stolen cell phone. When detectives attempted and question Gallagher about his call and text records he refused to cooperate.
On September 11, detectives found Gallagher at a bus stop in and attempted to question him. When Gallagher again refused to cooperate and provide detectives with a reasonable explanation of his phone records, he was arrested for filling a false report to law enforcement.
After Gallagher's arrest, the Florida drivers license he originally reported stolen during the armed robbery was found in his possession.
Gallagher was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail.
