Sarasota, Florida -- Sarasota Sheriff's deputies are searching for two people involved in a violent confrontation between two others while driving on Bee Ridge Road Sunday night.
After interviewing witnesses and a couple of the people involved in the incident, deputies say the confrontation was apparently sparked because the passenger in a Jeep, 18-year-old Jonathan Cetin, made comments to the female driver of a Nissan. The man, riding in the passenger seat of the Nissan, threw items at the Jeep in response.
Both vehicles then pulled over and a confrontation began. The man in the Nissan was armed with a knife and, at some point, Cetin received a superficial cut on his back.
Then, the man in the Nissan got back into the car and Cetin's friend, who was driving the Jeep, got out and positioned himself in front the of the car to keep it from leaving. He was then hit by the car and stabbed in the hand as he grabbed the passenger side of the car, before falling to the ground and injuring his back.
He was taken by Bayflight to Blake Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The vehicle -- described as a faded red, early 1990's compact car, possibly a Nissan -- was seen heading east on Bee Ridge Road.
The suspect is described as white male, in his mid-30's, 5'10" with a slim build. Deputies are also looking for a white woman with blond hair, who was with the man at the time.
