Pasco County, Florida-- Pasco County residents will have access to free sandbags as the threat of flooding is expected in the area through Wednesday.
According to the county's Office of Emergency Management, the National Weather Service in Ruskin issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the area- forecasting anywhere from 4 to 6 inches of rainfall through Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.
This could mean localized torrential rains, and in turn, flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas, and ponding of water on roadways.
To assist residents in the protection of their homes, the county has sand and sand bags at the following location:
- Pasco County Public Works Complex, 7530 State Street, New Port Richey
Residents must bring their own shovel, and can make no more than 25 sandbags per household.
Locals are also encouraged to sign up for county news alerts by utilizing the Notify Me function on the county's website.
