JACKSONVILLE, Florida (AP/WTLV) - Authorities say a man arrested at Jacksonville International Airport told security screeners he had a bomb in his backpack but they only found an electronic scale and batteries.
Zeljko Causevic was booked into jail early Wednesday. He's charged with making a false report about a hoax bomb. Authorities say he approached screeners at the security checkpoint.
The airport was evacuated and flights were stopped before reaching the gates. Passengers were displaced for nearly five hours.
Authorities say 39-year-old Causevic is scheduled to appear in bond court in Jacksonville at 1 p.m. An arrest report indicates he's originally from Bosnia.
A second suspect, 35-year-old, Manuel Rivera was also arrested by JAX Airport Police and booked into the Duval County Jail, according to the JSO jail log. Rivera is charged with resisting officer without violence.
Officials say Rivera is not connected to Causevic.
The airport was back to normal operation Wednesday morning.
