Plant City, Florida -- After a two week search, detectives have arrested a registered sex offender who was also wanted for grand theft auto and fleeing from police.
On September 16, Dennis Jamieson cut his GPS monitoring bracelet from his leg and left his registered address without permission. A few days later, Jamieson fled from the Tampa Police Department in a stolen vehicle
After these incidents, detectives began surveillance on Jamieson's mother's home in Plant City and his girlfriend's home on Nebraska Avenue.
After several days of surveillance and contact with citizen informants, detectives learned that Jamieson was at his mother's house in Plant City and a search warrant was obtained for the home.
A search was done with the assistance of a HCSO K-9 unit. Jamieson was located by the K-9 hiding under a pile of clothing and during his capture he was bit in the arm after he failed to comply with orders from the K-9 handler.
Jamieson was treated for a minor dog bite to his left arm before being booked into the Orient Road Jail with no bond.
