Plant City, Florida -- Hillsborough Sheriff's detectives are still sorting out what exactly went down at a trailer park in Plant City that resulted in a man being shot in the head and another shot in the leg.
Detectives say what they have determined is that three men had been out at a club drinking and doing drugs Thursday night. When they got back to a trailer on Chorba Drive around 3:30 a.m., they thought they heard noises outside. One of the men went outside and fired shots into the ground to try to scare anyone away.
At one point, the gun jammed and he ran back into the house. One of the other men in the trailer took the gun and unjammed it. Meanwhile, the landlord of the trailer park went to the trailer to reportedly find out what was going on. When the men heard someone approaching, they opened fire through the trailer hitting the landlord in the leg who also returned fire hitting one of the men inside in the head.
The man shot in the head was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital and the landlord was taken to South Florida Baptist Hospital.
Authorities have not identified anyone involved in the shooting at this time or released the conditions of the two men hospitalized.
