Tallahassee, Florida - College students across Florida now have a new tool to help protect themselves against sexual predators on campuses.
Florida has added a "University Search" option to its Sex Offender Registry.
That allows anyone to find out if sex offenders and predators work, volunteer or attend classes at Florida's colleges and universities.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement spokeswoman Gretl Plessinger says the new search option shows details about sex offenders, including photographs, convictions, and where they live.
"This allows you to very easily find who's going to school and maybe not living on campus or who's working on campus, but doesn't live around the campus."
Florida is home to more than 60,000 sex offenders and predators.
