Plant City, Florida -- After searching for most of the day Wednesday, Hillsborough Sheriff's deputies finally tracked down the two men suspected of an armed carjacking in Plant City.
While investigating an unrelated crime in the area of CR 39 and Bruten Road around 11 a.m., a Plant City Police detective spotted the victim's brown Honda Accord. When the detectives tried to pull the car over, the driver sped off and crashed into a ditch.
The two men jumped out and ran from the car on foot into a wooded area. Multiple members of the sheriff's office set up a perimeter and after about six hours, K-9 teams tracked down the driver, 34-year-old Justin Blackmon, and his passenger, 29-year-old Timothy Connell.
