Tampa, Florida -- Students at Jefferson High School got a special visit this morning from the Tampa Port Authority CEO Paul Anderson.
Jefferson received this special visit because it has a unique program designed to teach kids about the logistics of maritime. The program is called the Maritime and Marine Environmental Science Honors Academy. The program teaches students a wide variety of topics to prepare students for a career in the maritime industry.
Anderson remarked on his excitement for the future of these students and the program. He also said that more than eighty thousand jobs are directly or indirectly related to the maritime industry in the Tampa Bay area.
