Sarasota, Florida -- A deputy has been put on administrative leave after she shot at a suspect who almost hit her with a car while fleeing from the scene.
Around 5 in the morning on October 26, deputies responded an alarm going off at the Brent Tree Golf Club. Upon arrival, deputies found a vehicle in the parking lot occupied by Kimberly Tomchinsky. When deputies attempted to make contact with Tomchinsky she drove at the deputies almost striking Deputy Karen Boone.
Deputy Boon fired one round from her handgun as the car drove toward her. Tomchinsky was able to flee the area.
Tomchinsky was located later on the golf course where deputies were able to take her into custody.
No one was injured during the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
