Tampa, FL - Earlier this weekend a fire in a storage building at a Yuengling Brewery complex in Tampa caused an estimated $1 million in damage. Only two employees were in the building at the time, and they both got out safely as the fire erupted on Saturday evening.
Authorities say dozens of firefighters backed by aerial ladder trucks put out the blaze and one firefighter suffered a minor injury and was treated at a hospital and released.
Manager Jim Helmke said that the fire was in a very isolated part of the building and none of the aged beer was even close to the fire. He also stated that they would be back to making beer in the morning.
Yuengling is the oldest brewery in the U.S. It was founded in 1829. The company is based in Pottsville, Pa.
