In perhaps a new low for tastelessness, two Florida men dressed up as George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin for Halloween, complete with blackface and a blood-stained hoodie.
The Smoking Gun identifies the men as 22-year-old Greg Cimeno -- dressed as Zimmerman and wearing a "neighborhood watch" shirt -- and 25-year-old William Filene -- covering his face in black paint and wearing a sweatshirt covered in blood.
George Zimmerman was the neighborhood watch captain who earlier this year was acquitted in shooting an unarmed Trayvon Martin in 2012.
The crass Halloween photo has now gone viral, with many expressing outrage over the costumes.
The Smoking Gun notes one of the men, Filene, has a criminal history, including auto theft charges back in June by Cape Coral police.
The picture was originally posted on Caitlin Cimeno's Facebook page (Caitlin is the woman pictured in the middle) and has since been taken down. But as the trio have since learned, once something is posted on the Internet, it stays there forever.
"Anything for a laugh," Greg Cimeno commented before the picture's removal. In another comment he said, "Not too funny. It's f****** hilarious!!!"
But a lot of people aren't laughing.
