Hernando County, Florida -- A school crossing guard has been accused of sexually battering a woman at his home.
The woman told Hernando Sheriff's deputies James Woods attacked her in the early morning hours while she slept in a bed at his home.
She told deputies the attack happened after she took her medication that makes her incoherent to the point that she is heavily sedated after about 15-20 minutes. She said she was sexually battered three times that day and couldn't stop it because her medication makes her physically incapacitated.
She also said that the Woods' wife, who is also a school crossing guard, knew about the attack but asked her not to call police because of their jobs.
Pursuant to the investigation and HCSO policy, James Woods, 69, has been fired from his position and charged with sexual battery.
Detectives say the investigation is on-going regarding possible charges and/or disciplinary action to his wife, Pamela.
