The Collier County Sheriff's Office says a private plane on approach to Everglades City Airport crashed into the water on the bayside of the runway.
Four people were on board, two men and two woman, including the pilot. All complained of back and neck pain and were taken to Naples Community Hospital in downtown Naples.
The victims were outside of the plane when two people in a jon boat, Kent Daniels and Eddie Ballard, picked them up.
Also responding were units from the National Park Service was first on scene, Ochopee Fire Dept. and EMS.
The National Transportation Safety Board will take over the investigation.
The plane was to stay in the bay until the NTSB can examine the scene, a Collier sheriff's spokesperson said.
