HOUSTON (AP) - The Houston Cougars are starting to turn heads after jumping out to a 6-1 start and remaining undefeated in the American Athletic Conference.
But, it's not just the Cougars' record that is getting attention as they prepare for Thursday night's home game against South Florida.
Houston is playing two true freshmen quarterbacks this season after starter junior David Piland quit football, citing concerns about a concussion he received in the second game this season.
John O'Korn relieved Piland in that game and has been the starter since. Greg Ward Jr. has come in to run the Cougars' wildcat formation.
Houston coach Tony Levine says both O'Korn and Ward have done a great job running the offense and that both are improving every day.
