RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Victor Hedman scored in the second period and Steven Stamkos added an insurance goal to back Ben Bishop's shutout in the Tampa Bay Lightning's 3-0 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night.
Bishop (8-2) stopped 31 shots in his first shutout of the season and second of his career against Carolina. Alex Killorn added a goal and an assist, and Martin St. Louis had two assists.
The Lightning have won four of five overall and eight of nine at Carolina.
Carolina, which lost its fourth straight, fell to 1-3-3 at home. Justin Peters (0-4) made 29 saves.
Manny Malhotra made his Hurricanes debut, playing in his 865th NHL game with his sixth team. Carolina played its first game since forwards Jeff Skinner and Radek Dvorak were place on the injured list.
