St. Petersburg, FL - The St. Petersburg mayoral election is just one day away and the candidates are counting down.
Rick Kriseman made grassroots efforts in Saturday to encourage people to go to the polls on Tuesday.
Incumbent, Mayor Bill Foster had to put his campaigning on hold Saturday afternoon. He was an honored guest at the St. Petersburg International Folk Festival where watched 29 people be sworn in as American citizens.
Now, both candidates will see if their efforts will sway St. Petersburg residents. According to the Tampa Bay Times, as of Friday, voters had returned 44 percent of the more than 62,000 absentee ballots sent out by the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Office.
