Tampa, Florida -- A Jamaican stowaway was arrested with over three pounds of marijuana on him at the Port of Tampa Sunday.
Federal and local investigators say Duwayne Hines, a Jamaican national, boarded the maritime cargo vessel "Dinkeldiep" while in a Jamaican port without permission.
The ship's crew notified authorities after they found Hines hiding on the boat while at out at sea. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials were waiting at the docks when the ship arrived at the Port of Tampa and arrested Hines along with 3.7 pounds of marijuana.
Deputies charged Hines with felony possession of marijuana and a immigration hold was issued by CBP. Hines, 23, is currently being held in the Hillsborough County Jail.
