St. Lucie County, Florida -- A Port St. Lucie man is under arrest after authorities say he rear-ended an off-duty St. Lucie County deputy in her personal vehicle.
The driver, Jonathan Barnes, 55, was heading south on U.S. 1 and weaving in and out of traffic, according to witnesses. He allegedly made a wide-radius turn while weaving between lanes, swerved, and struck the left rear of Deputy Nadia Valencia's car.
Deputies say Barnes' car kept moving, striking a palm tree in the median.
Deputy Valencia was treated at St. Lucie Medical Center and released.
Barnes was jailed on charges of driving with a suspended license and driving while intoxication for the fourth time in 10 years, according to Sheriff Ken Mascara.
