Bradenton, Florida -- A 13-year-old middle school student was arrested Monday after police say he cut two students with a pair of scissors.
Manatee Sheriff's deputies say around 2:30 p.m. Monday, the Lee Middle School student attacked a classmate during an art class.
That student was cut on the neck and another, who tried to intervene, was cut on the hand. Both received medical attention at the school for minor injuries.
Shortly after the incident, police say the attacker ran from the school and was arrested in a nearby parking lot by the school's resource deputy. It is not clear what prompted the attack.
The student, who has not been identified, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery.
