Clearwater, Florida -- A multi-agency investigation has led to multiple charges against an Oldsmar man who allegedly planned to take a 16-year-old girl out of state to use drugs with her and have sex with her.
The investigation on 21-year-old Carlos Garcia was done as part of the Clearwater/Tampa Bay Area Task Force On Human Trafficking, which is made up of multiple partners from law enforcement and other types of agencies.
Authorities credit the proactive sharing of information to help keep the minor girl from being taken out of state.
Garcia, who lives on Longwood Circle in Oldsmar, was arrested Sunday in Clearwater as he and the girl were putting her luggage into the trunk of his car.
Garcia was charged with interference with child custody, traveling to meet a minor, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and use of computer service prohibited.
