SEFFNER, Fla. -- The recent investigation of Armwood High School raises a question: Do student athletes need to transfer to bigger programs in order to get a scholarship? At Seffner Christian Academy, the answer is no.
On Friday, the school saw four student athletes sign scholarships. Among them was Garrett Saunders, who became the first athlete in school history to sign a football scholarship. Garrett will attend Olivet Nazarene University outside of Chicago.
Saunders thinks it proves that athletes can still make it to the next level if they stick with the small Seffner Christian Program, just down the road from Armwood.
