Tampa, Florida-- Mark Barron is officially a Tampa Bay Buccaneer, agreeing to a 5-year contract according to mulitple reports. The seventh overall selection in last April's NFL draft signed for $14.5 million of which $8.9 million is guarenteed.
Barron is expected to step right in and start at Strong Safety for the Buccaneers. The former Alabama All-American made 68 tackles last year in his senior season at Alabama.
Tampa Bay head coach Greg Schiano made it apparent yesterday during rookie training camp, that he was highly anticipating Barron signing soon with the team.
According to ProFootballTalk.com Barron will receive $390,000 this season, $1.047 million next year, $1.705 million in 2014 and $2.362 million in 2015.
