Dade City, FL - Pasco High School's Brandon Ray is the Southern Ford Dealers Player of the Week.

The sophomore kicker, punter, cornerback and wide receiver rarely comes off the field.

Ray consistently put his kickoffs into the endzone, eliminating any chance of a long runback.   He also was a perfect 7-for-7 on extra points, boomed a 50-yard punt and kicked a 42-yard field goal in the first half.

But it's his play on offense and defense that makes Ray standout.   On Eastside's first possession, he had an interception that he returned deep into Gainesville territory.   And on offense he turned a short swing pass into a 46-yard reception.

"Kicking can get a little boring, cause you're just standing on the sideline waiting for your call to get in the game.   But I definitely think defense is a lot of fun, and offense when you get the ball is a lot of fun too.   But kicking can get kind of boring."

This Friday Pasco (12-0) travels to Tampa to take on the Robinson Knights (11-10 in a Class 5A Region final game.
