Tampa, FL-- The Tampa Bay Lightning will honor Captain Vincent Lecavalier Friday night, for playing in his 1000th NHL game.
This will actually be Lecavalier's 1002nd game. He reached 1000 Monday on the road against the Islanders.
Vinny has been with the Lightning for 15 years, and is only 32 years old and shows no signs of slowing down. He has a Stanley Cup, 374 career goals, and is the team captain.
Vinny is a Montreal native, but has grown to love Tampa.
"Tampa really feels like home to me," Lecavalier said after the morning skate. "In the summer, I go home to Montreal... And then I come back, and it feels like home again... It's great to be here... It's been 15 years... And it's an honor to be part of that same organization."
