Luke Donald lines up his putt on the 10th hole during the first round of the 112th U.S. Open golf tournament at The Olympic Club.
Palm Harbor, FL-- Luke Donald is back to defend his title in the Tampa Bay Championship presented by EverBank, at the Innisbrook Resort.
Donald won the tournament last year, in a playoff with Jim Furyk, Sang-Moon Bae, and Robert Garrigus.
Many top players choose to skip this event, blaming the schedule, and the other top tournaments on the Florida swing. But the players who do play, rave about the Copperhead course, which has been named the best PGA Tour course in Florida. Donald says he makes room on his schedule to play the Copperhead, but understands the other players.
"It does put players in a tough place," Donald told 10 News. "There's Arnie's place next week.... The World Golf Tour event at Doral... And Honda is a very popular course as well... It's a good problem for the Tour to have, so many great venues in Florida, in a one-month stretch."
Donald is currently ranked number-3 in the World Golf Rankings.
