Tampa, FL-- The Lightning have placed captain Vincent Lecavalier on injured reserve, with a lower body injury.

Being on injured reserve means a player must miss at least 7 days, but head coach Guy Boucher said Lecavalier will be out longer than that.

The Lightning will call up a player from Syracuse, sometime before tonight's game with the Islanders.
