Tampa, Florida -- The newest member of the Bucs, Darrelle Revis, met with the Tampa Bay media Monday. He didn't say much about his departure from the New York Jets, just that he was glad to be in Tampa.

Revis was asked if this move makes the Bucs a playoff team.

"We're gonna make some noise, don't worry about that," Revis told reporters. "This was a great move for me. I check on the team... with guys like Josh Freeman, Vincent Jackson, Doug Martin, this is a team on the rise. The Bucs are the best fit for me."

Revis has been cleared to start running, and he has begun his rehab after ACL surgery last November. He didn't add much, except to say his recovery is going well.

"People are going to sit and say how is he going to perform and how is he going to play is he going to be the way he was before.  I am in my best situation now and I am going to do the best I can and do my best to get out on the field and do what I have to do."

The trade process lasted several weeks, and Bucs General Manager Mark Dominik admitted Monday was the deadline to get something done, with Jets' GM John Idzik. He also said, he was never sure until Sunday, that a deal would get done.

"I appreciate what Coach Greg Schiano said, it takes a lot of patience in the whole building... It takes time for these things to develop, and an opportunity to trade for a Darrelle Revis... Sure, there were times I didn't think it was going to happen... I wasn't completely sure until I received the trade papers that John and I negotiated... And both of us signed them and understood that this was happening."
