St. Petersburg, FL-- In his latest edition of Rays' Clubhouse Follies, manager Joe Maddon hired a salsa/merengue band to play before the game.
While the band played, relief pitcher Joel Peralta took the drummer and did a mean salsa dance with her, to the delight of the media contingent.
"We've got a couple of Latin players here, so he was trying to make us happy... He did," said Peralta. "It was nice."
Asked if he knew it was coming, Peralta admitted, "No,not at all."
David Price said he followed along with a lot of the music.
"I was Spanish 2 student of the year my sophomore year in high school, so I understand a lot of that," Price said. "I can translate that back into English... Yo soy and that stuff... I got it."
