Port Charlotte, FL -- Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Alex Cobb's first rehab start lasted only two pitches Tuesday night. He left the Charlotte Stone Crabs' game with a blister on his right index finger.
Cobb said he developed the blister during recent throwing, and leaving tonight's game was a precaution. The blister did not open.
He's still optimistic he can make a rehab start this weekend, or early next week.
This would have been Cobb's first game, since suffering a concussion when he was hit in the head by a line drive back on June 15.
