Canton, OH -- Warren Sapp, about to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, said he is now with "the best of the best."
He spoke with reporters Friday afternoon, in Canton, a little more than 24 hours before the Hall of Fame ceremonies.
"The Godfather, the Shawshank Redemption... The best of the best... The greatest of the greatest... This is what it is," Sapp said. "Michael Irvin said it best, it's (Hall of Fame) the Bible of the NFL... You go to church every Sunday and they talk from a 2,000 year old book... Teaching you, giving you strength... Walking in that room, they inspired me... They inspired me to be better every day, and I loved it."
The 9-year Buccaneer defensive tackle received his Hall of Fame jacket at the Gold Jacket dinner Friday night. He'll be up early Saturday, for the annual parade through Canton.
Then, Saturday night, his daugher Mercedes will introduce him at the ceremony, when he joins the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He's scheduled to be the 6th speaker, out of 7.
