The Jefferson Dragons are off to a 2-0 start to the season after beating the Hillsborough Terriers, 28-23 Friday nights. Quarterback Deiondre Porter had a nice game passing downfield. Two highlight plays went deep to James Wilson for 25 yards and Chavez Pownell for 46 yards in the first half.
The Terriers actually scored first. Dwayne Larson ran it in from 1-yard out and Hillsborough converted on a 2-point conversion to make it 8-0. Jefferson scored all of its points in the second half.
Jefferson will try to go for a 4-0 start when the Dragons visit Robinson next Thursday. The Terriers will host Armwood on Thursday at 7 p.m.
