Lakeland, Florida-- It was a rivalry showdown in Lakeland Friday night as Lake Gibson was invading Kathleen.
In the second quarter, Kathleen blocked a punt deep in Lake Gibson territory. That set up a one yard run from Anthony Ware to make it 14-7, Braves. Then in the third, the Braves Thomas Boles bounced to the outside to take a 21-7 lead.
But in the 4th quarter Kathleen rallied for two touchdowns to force overtime at 21 a piece. In the fifth overtime Kathleen squeaked out a victory 45 to 44 after the Braves failed to convert a 2-point conversion.
