Hello Joe Bucs Fan!
New England is favored by a touchdown... the Bucs are staring at an 0-3 start... but I'm going to try and be positive here.
First of all, it's the same things plaguing the Bucs: the 10-plus penalties per game, the lack of discipline, Josh Freeman's inconsistent play, and their inability to close out football games.
But here's why I think the Bucs have a chance here to pull off a major upset of the Patriots. First of all, they are 0-2, but they've been competitive; they're last second losses and they're in a position to win these games.
Defense greatly improved: lead the league in sacks with 9, as long as they keep blitzing. And they have Dashon Goldson for the game, when his suspension was lifted. That's a morale boost, too.
They unleashed Doug Martin last week, and no reason why that shouldn't continue. And the Patriots haven't exactly been overpowering in their first two wins, and does Tom Brady have any receivers left?
I know it's a crazy thought, but the Bucs have a chance in Foxborough... and wouldn't that quiet all those national stories that are flooding the media? At least for a while...
