Tampa, FL - Plant Panther's quarterback Colby Brown is the 10 News Sports Player of the Week.
Last Friday night, Brown had a record setting performance in leading the Panthers past the Bloomingdale Bulls 50-40.
The senior quarterback completed 33 of 43 passes for 519 yards and four touchdowns.
The 33 completions broke Robert Marve's best, set in the 2006 state championship game, and Brown's 519 passing yards easily broke Aaron Murrays record of 409 yards against Jefferson in 2007.
Brown said the impact of his record setting performance is still setting in.
"I'm completely blown away. I went home and told my Dad I had, maybe, 300 yards or something like that. And when coach Weiner told me the next day I had as many yards as I did, I was blown away, and even more blown away to find out I had the record."
It was also a Panthers record setting night for junior wide receiver Jordan Reed, who had 14 catches for 240 yards, breaking Derek Winters previous best.
And if that wasn't enough, senior Alex Jackson set a new school record with 326 total yards. Jackson had 145 yards rushing, 107 yard receiving and 74 in kick return yardage. Once again it was a Derek Winter record being rewritten.
This week Plant (3-0-1) travels to Tampa Bay Tech (3-1) in what is always a good tough game.
