St. Petersburg, FL - For the Largo Packers the offensive game plan was simple, give the ball to Jarvis Stewart, again, and again and again.
Stewart easily handled the load, finishing with nearly 236-yards on 39 carries, leading the Packers (4-1) past the Lakewood Spartans (3-2) 20-6 in a non-district game.
In the first quarter, Largo quarterback Donovan Hale faked a handoff to Stewart, and easily scampered in from 31-yards to give the Packers the early 7-0 lead.
But Lakewood also can run the ball. Using the legs of quarterback Ryan Davis, the Spartans responded to Largo's score by marching deep into Largo territory. Then Davis used his arm, connecting with tight end Darquez Watson for a 21-yard score.
But then it was Stewart time again. The senior workhorse pounded his way up the middle, going 80-yards to give Largo a 13-6 lead.
Stewart added another score in the third quarter and the Largo Packers ran past the Lakewood Spartans 20-6.
Up next for Largo, they host the Osceola Warriors in a 6A-7 district game, while Lakewood travels to Boca Ciega in a 5A-8 district battle.
