Manatee High School's Joe Kinnan advances to 2nd round of USA TODAY Best High School Football Coach contest

Bradenton, Florida -- Earlier this week, Manatee High School's coach Joe Kinnan became one of the 51 finalists for USA Today's Best High School Football Coach contest.

Kinnan beat out seven other coaches in the state of Florida to advance to this second round.

Now, Kinnan will compete against five other coaches in the southeast region. But he'll need your help if he is to going to advance to the national round of 8 eight regional winners.

The athletic department of the winning coach will receive $2,000. Those who come in second through fifth place also receive cash prizes for the athletic departments: 

  • Second place: $1,000
  • Third place: $500 
  • Fourth place: $250 
  • Fifth place: $100

All eight finalists receive banners for their schools.
