Eden Prairie, Minnesota -- Minnesota Vikings quarterback Josh Freeman's status against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night is in doubt after coach Leslie Frazier revealed Wednesday that Freeman suffered a concussion on Monday night against the New York Giants.
If Freeman can't answer the bell, Frazier said Christian Ponder would start for the Vikings.
The news of the possible change at quarterback had an immediate effect on the Las Vegas betting line. The Packers went from being a 9.5-point favorite to an 8-point favorite.
Freeman will go through the league-required concussion protocol before his playing status will be determined. It's not known when Freeman suffered the concussion. Frazier said he didn't see anything during the game to indicate Freeman was having concussion symptoms.
Freeman struggled mightily against the Giants. He completed just 37 percent of his passes and overthrew receivers on numerous occasions. Ponder hasn't started since Week 3.
