Tarpon Springs, FL - East Lake was too much for Pinellas Park to handle Friday night, giving the Patriots their first loss of the season, while the Eagles remain unbeaten at 8-0 and claim the Class 7A-9 district title.

The Eagles got on the scoreboard first when quarterback Jake Hudson ran it in from the 1-yard line.  A few plays later, it was the defense chipping in, with Jacob Hansen returning an interception 17-yards to give East Lake a 14-0 lead.

The Patriots, know as a running team, used the pass to get themselves back in the game.   Pierre Johnson scored on a 6-yard run, cutting the lead to 14-6.

But then it was all East Lake.  Artavis Scott had two touchdown runs and Devin Abraham had a 15-yard interception touchdown in the third quarter.

Next week, the Eagles (8-0, 4-0) travel to Northeast in their final disctrict game, then close out the season at home with St. Peterburg.

For the Patriots (7-1, 3-1) they host Countryside, next week, in a game they have to win in order to make the playoffs
