The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed running back Charles Sims (knee) on injured reserve, meaning he'll miss at least the next eight weeks. The earliest Sims would be able to return is Week 14.
Sims and Doug Martin will both be unavailable Monday against the Carolina Panthers, meaning Jacquizz Rodgers will start.
Russell Hansbrough was promoted from the practice squad, making him the third-string running back behind Rodgers and Peyton Barber.
The Buccaneers are off next week, giving Martin extra time to recover from his hamstring injury, as he targets a week 7 return.
