Former University of Florida quarterback football coach Chris Leak is the subject of a sexual assault investigation involving a 16-year-old girl, according to Orlando police.
Leak has not been charged with a crime and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
The 31-year-old Leak was in his first season as head coach of Orlando Edgewater High’s football team before resigning this week after the team started the season 0-5. He could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
According to an investigative report, the alleged incident occurred Sept. 5 in the Edgewater athletic trainer office.
Leak is alleged to have asked the girl to give him a massage after he emerged from the shower area wearing only a towel.
The girl reportedly told detectives that she massaged his back legs before he asked for a massage of the front of his legs.
The girl told detectives that Leak then pulled her hands up to touch his genitals, the report states, and she grazed them a few times before leaving.
He called her and eventually took her home, according to the report.
The girl told a friend about the incident and Leak reportedly gave the friend $100.
Edgewater administrative officials had no comment on the report.
Leak was quarterback for the Gators from 2003 to 2006, leading the ’06 team to a national championship in coach Urban Meyer’s second season in Gainesville.
He went on to play briefly in the NFL in 2007 before moving on to the Canadian Football League and Arena Football League.
Leak is married with two young daughters.
