USF's Quinton Flowers named American Athletic player of year

USF quarterback Quinton Flowers has been named the American Athletic Conference player of the year.

Flowers, who led the Bulls to a program-best 10-2 regular season record, is joined on the list by teammates including Marlon Mack who earned first-team honors for a program-record third straight season.

Flowers became the fourth Bull to claim a conference player of the year award and the first-ever to win it on the offensive side of the ball. He joins current USF offensive analyst Lindsey Lamar (2010 Big East Special Teams Player of the Year), George Selvie (2007 Big East Defensive Player of the Year) and Ean Randolph (2006 Big East Special Teams Player of the Year).
