Kapalua, HI (Sports Network) - It wasn't the best round Steve Stricker ever
played, but it was enough to get him into the winner's circle.
Stricker closed with four-under 69 on Monday to win the season-opening Hyundai
Tournament of Champions by three strokes at Kapalua.
He completed his 12th PGA Tour title at 23-under-par 269.
Stricker won for the sixth time in the last seven tries when owning at least a
piece of the 54-hole lead. His lead had dropped to a single stroke, but
Stricker sealed the deal with two birdies in the last three holes.
Scotland's Martin Laird fired a six-under 67 to take second place at minus-20.
Webb Simpson (68) and 2011 winner Jonathan Byrd (68) shared third at 19-
under-par 273.
