Sea Island, GA (Sports Network) - Rookie Bud Cauley and Marco Dawson both
fired an 8-under-par 62 on Thursday to share the lead after one round of the
McGladrey Classic.
Cauley, who is seeking his first PGA Tour win, carded six of his eight birdies
on the outward nine at the Seaside Course at Sea Island Resort en route to the
first-round lead.
Dawson, also searching for his first tour victory, recorded nine birdies and a
bogey. The 48-year-old's best career finish came in 1995, when he placed
second at the Greater Milwaukee Open.
Greg Owen, Boo Weekley and Rod Pampling are tied for third at 6-under, while
Sea Island residents Zach Johnson and Davis Love III are part of a group
deadlocked at 5-under.
