Chamberlain going after 3rd softball championship

Tampa, Florida -- The Chamberlain High School softball team left campus today, to a raucous pep rally from their classmates. Head Coach Bob Diez's crew is headed to Dodgertown in Vero Beach for the 6A state semifinal game against Lake Region High School from Eagle Lake.

The Chiefs have won two state championships under Diez, the 7A crown two years ago and the 5A championship in 2003.

Not much was expected from this young group at the beginning of the season, but that all changed.

"We started with really, really good players," 28-year head coach Bob Diez told 10 Sports. "This is a young team. My seniors, Liz Diez, J.B. Scott, and Izzy Ordorica, kinda brought us along, and we've just grown."

J.B. Scott was on the championship team in 2012. "I know what to expect and I know what I have to do," Scott said. "And we know what everybody has to do as a team."
