San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - San Francisco Giants pitcher Guillermo
Mota has been suspended 100 games after testing positive for a performance-
enhancing substance, the office of the commissioner of baseball announced
Monday.
Mota, who received a 50-suspension for a performance-enhancing substance
violation on November 1, 2006, tested positive for Clenbuterol, which is on
the list of substances that violate Major League Baseball's joint drug
prevention and treatment program.
The 14-year veteran has made nine appearances with the Giants this season,
recording an 0-1 record with a 5.06 earned run average in 10 2/3 innings out
of the bullpen. His suspension is effective immediately.
