Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Rockies pitcher Jhoulys Chacin will be placed
on the disabled list rather than report to Triple-A as previously planned, the
team has announced.
Colorado demoted Chacin to Colorado Springs on May 2 after an 0-3 start but
rescinded their option Monday, instead opting to place him on the 15-day DL
with right shoulder inflammation.
The right-hander has struggled with command and confidence issues this season.
Chacin's ERA ballooned to 7.30 in five starts after he gave up seven runs and
11 hits in 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Dodgers on May 1.
